Ann Vander Dussen

August 23, 1946 ~ September 15, 2017 (age 71) 71 Years Old
Ann (Lemstra) Vander Dussen was born August 23, 1946 in Stedum, The Netherlands. She immigrated to American with her family in 1957, settled in Bellflower, CA and received her education in the Valley Christian School system. She went on with her higher education and attained her Registered Nurse certification and license.

She met Sybrand Vander Dussen in 1966; they married on September 8, 1967, raised 3 sons, and were in the Dairy business from 1969 to 2000 in Chino, CA. On the date of her death, she and Sybrand were married 50 years and one week.

Ann was an avid tennis player, very competitive and accomplished, and coached the girls’ tennis team at Centennial High School for 7 years. She has been a lifelong member of the Reformed Church in America, serving on various boards and committees, and served as President of the Mothers’ Club at Ontario Christian School, sang in the Choir in the various Churches they attended as they moved from Chino to Corona, then to Chowchilla, CA. Ann sang in the Cornerstone Community Church Choir and was active in the Women’s Bible Study. She loved music and could ping out a hymn on the organ or piano. Ann fully expected the best in people, and if they disappointed, she would simply and lovingly accept that. She and Sybrand raised their 3 sons to be God-loving, Christ-serving, independent, strong leaders and husbands – in other words, “Good Men”. Her daughters-in law loved and respected her, and she in turn respected and supported them. Ann succumbed to cancer after a valiant 37 month battle.

Ann leaves behind the love of her life, Sybrand, sons Mark (Ranae), Michael (Wendy), Daniel (Sophia) 14 grandchildren, one brother, Walter (Tina), one sister, Elly (Clarence). She was preceded in death by her parents, Wybrand and Harmina Lemstra, her parents-in-law, Sybrand and Johanna Vander Dussen.

Ann was a committed Christian, fully embracing and believing her complete redemption from sin, assured salvation and the knowledge that she would spend eternity glorifying God Almighty and her personal Savior, Jesus Christ.

Private Interment will be at Chowchilla District Cemetery. A memorial service will be at Cornerstone Community Church Friday, September 22, 2017 at 10:00 am.
